Does the collapse of the perfect mouse society predict our own collapse?

George Orwell and Aldous Huxley walk into a bar. They both order a drink — stiff gin for George, a Mescaline Spritzer for Aldous.

They continue their debate about the future.

Orwell: “Blah blah, I’m George Orwell and I’m saying that one quote about boot and face and stomping forever — everyone has heard it and it’s been used to death in the last five years”

Huxley: “People will come to love their oppression, to adore the technologies that undo their capacities to think.”

Huxley then goes to check his tinder messages.

The bartender comes up to them with the drinks. The bartender is Lyndon B. Johnson.

Johnson: “You know boys, that sounds just swell. Let’s do both!”

Being Lyndon B. Johnson, he also has his dick is out.

End Scene.

John B. Calhoun put a bunch of mice in a concentration camp. Actually four camps.

He created “universes” — that provided a predator-free habitats with endless food, water, and bedding material. These were meant to what happens when a population is constrained only by their population density.
